Before first use, all textiles should be washed cold or at a maximum of 30 degrees. In this way, you remove any excess colour that may be present in the fabric of coloured textiles and at the same time guarantee a gentle first fabric soak. In this way, you increase the life of your new laundry and prevent excessive fabric shrinkage as well as the sensitivity of new textiles to stains. Please ensure that you sort whites and coloureds and always wash them separately.
After the first cold wash cycle, please follow our care symbols. The degrees indicated in the wash symbols are maximum temperatures that must not be exceeded. They are therefore not recommended temperatures. For this reason, textiles do not have to be washed at maximum temperatures or tumble dried all the time. Depending on how dirty they are, much lower temperatures are often sufficient. In addition to saving energy and detergent, you will also protect your textiles and increase their lifespan.
To achieve the best possible washing results, it is important that you do not overload the drum. The laundry should be able to fall loosely in the drum. Overloading leads to increased creasing, greying and premature wear, especially of the hem edges. The laundry should not be left in the washing machine or tumble dryer for long periods of time.
Use commercially available detergents for washing. Important: Please always use detergents without optical brighteners for coloured laundry. Optical brighteners are contained in all heavy-duty detergents, but also in many coloured detergents. They keep white laundry bright white, whereas they cause irreparable colour overlays on coloured laundry.
Use mild detergent without optical brighteners. We advise you to always turn the bed linen inside out and wash and dry with the zip closed. This keeps the colours stronger and prevents the zip from breaking.
In the case of terry towels, fabric shrinkage of up to 15% is possible due to the production process. Threads that have been pulled by snagging can be cut off without any problems; please do not pull on them as this will destroy the fabric structure. Please use fabric softeners sparingly and follow the manufacturer's instructions. Too high a dosage will severely impair absorbency.
Please dab off stains immediately with a damp cloth. In the case of heavy stains, treat the tablecloth with a mild detergent on a gentle cycle (see the relevant care symbols). Tablecloths with stain-repellent properties can be reactivated by ironing or mangling (level 1) on the wrong side. To avoid possible mould stains, do not leave the fabric outside overnight and do not fold it when damp.
If the fabric is exposed to intense sunlight for too long, the colour may fade despite its high lightfastness.
Allow the duvet to air out properly in the morning. This allows the moisture absorbed during the night to dry properly. Shaking the duvet daily helps to maintain the fluffiness of the fibres over a long period of time. Do not use your warm duvet in the hot summer months. It will become unnecessarily sweaty and stressed.
In summer, it is much more comfortable to sleep under a light down, cotton or silk duvet. When you are not using your duvet, store it properly. Important: Never use a nylon bag to store your bedding. Use the specially designed Mussner bag or another fabric bag or duvet cover. This is very important because air circulation must always be guaranteed with a duvet (and especially with a down duvet).
To wash or dry a pillow or duvet, the drum should have a capacity of at least 10kg. If your household machines do not have this capacity, we recommend that you hand over your bedding to a trusted commercial laundry for cleaning. Of course, we also offer this cleaning and washing service. You can find more information about this in the Service section.
